Our story began long before our first summer program.
ABOUT AHITY OUTREACH
The Alliance of Hearts Initiative for Today’s Youths grew from years of missionary service, educational advocacy, and firsthand experience with the challenges facing young people in Nigerian communities.
What began with efforts to support schools and individual students developed into a focused initiative to create meaningful educational and personal development opportunities during school holidays.
Our Beginnings
A vision shaped by experience
During his missionary service in Nigeria, Rev. Uju Okeahialam witnessed the challenges facing young people in communities where educational resources and opportunities for meaningful engagement were limited.
His early advocacy included helping establish and support St. Peter’s Primary School in Abaji-Abuja, alongside efforts made possible by generous individuals to assist students from rural communities in continuing their education.
Over time, a more specific need became clear: young people needed support beyond the classroom, especially during school holidays when structured educational and developmental activities were often unavailable.
From that understanding, the Alliance of Hearts Initiative for Today’s Youths was born—an organization dedicated to bringing students together for academic enrichment, mentorship, cultural appreciation, and opportunities to grow within their communities.
Bringing communities together through opportunity.
FROM VISION TO ACTION
What began as a commitment to supporting education grew into a summer initiative designed to engage young people during their school holidays.
AHITY brings together students from different schools, churches, and villages, creating opportunities for them to form friendships, exchange experiences, and learn from one another.
Local teachers guide academic activities, while community leaders, professionals, and invited speakers contribute mentorship, career guidance, and cultural experiences.
Together, these efforts create a supportive environment where young people can strengthen their education, discover new interests, and make positive choices for their futures.

The individuals helping guide AHITY's mission and strengthen its connection to the communities it serves.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND AHITY
AHITY is guided by a team in the United States and supported by local organizers in Nigeria who help coordinate its programs within the communities they serve.
Together, they work to turn a shared commitment to education and youth development into meaningful opportunities for young people.
A future we’re building together.
LOOKING AHEAD
AHITY's vision extends beyond the summer holidays. With continued community involvement and generous support, the organization hopes to establish a permanent Youth Center—a welcoming space where young people can continue learning, developing their talents, and building meaningful connections throughout the year.
The envisioned center would offer academic tutorials and examination preparation, computer and technology skills, language learning, culinary and practical life skills, music, dance, and opportunities for sports training and competitions.
More than a place for activities, the Youth Center would represent a lasting investment in young people and the communities they call home.
